Thank you prophet! Glad you enjoyed the piece. Have you listened to the leaked album yet? All Secrets Known and Private Hell are phenomenal. I damn well can't wait for my pre-order to come in the mail!

Hey Ed, you need to chill out. LWOK, thanks for the update! I cannot wait to hear the new Alice In Chains! I like yourself have been skeptical about AIC carrying on without Layne's awesome vocals but after hearing "Check My Brain" recently I am psyched about hearing the rest of the album. The music world needs a big kick in the ass and Jerry and the boys are going to be the steel toed boot.

You think I edited my post? Bwahahaha, and left everything the same except some minor comment about Neil Young? You realize how insane that sounds? I stand by everything I said. Sorry, you simply saw the phrase "Keep on Rocking" and didn't bother with the rest. (Hey I'll bet that guy from MetalSucks stole the idea from you too!)

Here's the first draft, time-stamped: http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac234/LifeWith...

And would you pay £30 to hear someone talk over a record they're only gonna play once through? Don't get me wrong, if it were on a continuous loop all evening as these things normally are, I'd have been a bit chattier too. But that wasn't the case.

Movies are loud too, but people don't tend to talk through them. And those that do are asked not to.

And if you are seriously asking me what "fans" means, *sigh* - people who are very much into some medium, group or person's work, and who follow such work or person more closely than the average member of the public. You travelled miles and spent as much as I did to hear an album, but seemed less than interested in actually hearing anything but the sound of your own voice.

It's just baffling you find your own opinions more interesting than first-hand experience of the work. It's very unusual, and even more unusual that you happily identify yourself as that person here.

And that dialogue is, surprise surprise, EXACTLY what was said. It was quite a bizarre little exchange. I don't know any other meaning of the phrase "please keep it down." Clearly, however, I must be missing the "secret second meaning" of those words.

I hadn't been on the new board much until i heard about the listening party, but i was on the very first one. No, its interesting i found this article after what was said about me or/and my friend and i wouldn't have come across it if some random american didn't post the link this random blog.

The volume was very loud, im suprised you couldn't concentrate too well. You can't compare this watching a film, as that requires concentration of the eyes and ears, this was just sitting about listening to a cd, comparing apples and orange.

My comments were not offence or rude, so you can't say you know what 'it feels like too. I think you said some pretty unecessary things, or unless you were trying to be funny...and for even suggesting in your blog that you would actually take physical violence over it!? once again maybe its you being a comedian... I dont know how much fortune you spent on it? The tickets were free anyhow, i spent £30 on train fares, and it took me 1 hour 30 mins to get there.

I think you edited the article, i don't believe you said that when i frist read it.

I would be intrigued to know what you also meant by " 'fans' " and i dont understand your little dialogue too, we clearly understood what you said as we were quieter or if not stopped..

Why is it "interesting" you read the boards? Think I'm amazed you discovered this article, given its specifically about an event that about 30 people including you were at?

I asked you (really the other guy) to be quiet because I didn't come to a listening event to hear you. I don't go to movies and loudly analyse the film while it's playing either because, as everyone except you guys seem by your own admission to understand.

And if you don't "appreciate" my comments then I guess you know what it feels like, too. We came for a rare chance to hear the record, and not a john madden play-by-play. And certainly not when I'd spent a small fortune and hours if my time getting to the event. See?

Also, read the article properly and you'll notice I WASN'T stealing from you. I said "Both the New York listening and the London listeners have noted that the song sounds like Keep on Rocking in the Free World combined with Nutshell ". GUESS WHAT. That's you. Not me. You were a listener. Well, you would have been if you hadn't been talking the whole time.

"Track 6 is another acoustic one, and at this point the free beer was reaching critical mass, and some “fan” next to me was yelling his various opinions loudly into the evening. It got so irritating that I, a meek and tolerant chap, ACTUALLY asked him to pipe down, leading to the following bizarre conversation:

Me: Excuse me, could you keep it down a little?
Him: Keep what down?
Me: (stares blankly)

He was either drunk, or a moron, and possibly both. Or he had an erection, and may have thought I was asking him to keep THAT down. Anyway, to his credit he did quieten down and we didn’t end up in the paper the next day."

Well interesting that i do read the alice in chains board and i saw this article being posted. I don't really appreciate your comments as we were just trying to analyze the record. I think you are referring to the older guy and not me, however we couldn't really speak quietly as you know the sound was extremely loud. You asked us to be quiet because what? you couldn't hear the music or what?

And a nice steal from me too, i did say various times it sounds like keep on rockin' with nutshell.
